For flute choir (Picc., 3Cfl, 1Gfl, 1Bfl) / para orquesta de flautas (Picc., 3fl en C, 1fl en G, 1 fl Bajo) 

In 2014 I was invited to participate in XII Encuentro Internacional de flautas del sur del mundo in Villarrica, Chile. I wanted to bring a piece to my Chilean friends as a gift and immediately began studying about the Mapuche culture, one of the most important South American cultures and one of the most “resistant” to the Spanish conquest. Their cosmogony is very interesting and the way they explain their relationship with the motherland MAPU, and with the elements that surround them. Hence the subtitle of each part of this brief work: The land to the south, the air to the north, the water to the east and the fire to the west, the cardinal points approached from its own existence as an indigenous nation. Land of the four places (Meli Huitran Mapu) It is only a musical recreation of what a foreigner understood and assimilated in its time of this millenary culture.

En el 2014 fui invitado a participar en XII Encuentro Internacional de flautas del sur del mundo en Villarrica, Chile. Quería llevar de regalo una pieza a mis amigos chilenos e inmediatamente me puse a leer sobre la cultura Mapuche, una de las culturas suramericanas más importantes y una de las más resistentes a la conquista española. Su cosmogonía es muy interesante y la manera como explican su relación con la tierra MAPU, y con los elementos que los rodean. De allí los subtítulos de cada parte de esta breve obra: La tierra al sur, el aire al norte, el agua al este y el fuego al oeste, los puntos cardinales abordados desde su propia existencia como nación indígena. Tierra de los cuatro lugares (Meli Huitran Mapu) Es solo una recreación musical de lo que un extranjero entendió y asimiló en su momento de esta cultura milenaria.
